The tournament will be limited to 24 teams. The bracket will be seeded by how much money each team raises through their MobileCause Team Fundraising pages. The top teams will get a first round bye in the tournament, automatically advancing them to Round Two.
The tournament will be double elimination. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of (2) 35 minute games.
Each team will create a Team Fundraising Page through the platform MobileCause. This page can then be emailed to coworkers, friends, and family members to raise money for programs that provide local children with food in the summer. You can also choose to have fundraisers at work (think bake sale, a special Jeans Day, or penny wars) and enter offline donations for your team’s fundraising page. The top fundraising teams will receive a first round bye in the tournament.
Rules will be emailed to Team Captains and posted on the website at least two weeks prior to the tournament. All players must be over 18 and sign a waiver before participating. Volunteer umpires will be present on every field to ensure fair play and to keep teams on schedule.
Team uniforms are not required but are HIGHLY encouraged.
Every team member (8 – 12 people per team) will receive a swag bag with items from our sponsors as well as a Kick Summer Hunger sweatband. The winner of the tournament will receive a traveling trophy.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the concession stand at Whitney Park. Please do not bring alcohol into the park. Water will be provided by our Premier Sponsor, Sysco Western Minnesota.
We cannot refund your payment in the unlikely event of a weather-related cancellation due to previous accrued expenses. In the event of a cancellation or delay, updates will posted on United Way’s website, Facebook page and emails will be sent to team captains.
