Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to be a donor in order to get involved?
A: You do not have to be a donor to the United Way in order to participate. We realize that many young professionals want to give of their time and talents, and we want to make sure that anyone who is interested in participating is able.
Q: Is there a fee or membership requirement to join?
A: There is no membership requirement or fee to be involved in Young Leaders United. YLU will host regular opportunities to engage with our community, and if you want to participate you can, but there are no required meetings you have to attend. Basically, you control how much or how little you want to be involved.
Q: What does a typical volunteer opportunity look like?
A: At least every other month, Young Leaders United hosts a specific volunteering opportunity for young people in Central Minnesota. Since our bus tour kick off in June of 2015, we’ve hosted a variety of volunteer opportunities around the community. Here are some highlights:
Canvas Painting for a Cause
Toys for Tots
Tie Blankets and Holiday Baskets
