We can be United even while we’re apart. Here’s how.
Right now it’s easy to feel isolated. But even though we are apart, we are United.
We are still a community.
We are a community that is full of hand-raisers and doers. One full of people who are strong, compassionate, generous and full of resolve. We know if we come together, we’ll get through this and be stronger on the other side.
We know, because we’ve seen the power of community. The power of this community.
The Power of Community
United Way of Central Minnesota has served our community for over 50 years. During that time, we have seen this community face and survive many crises. We have made it through each one of those hardships by working together, supporting each other and creating innovative solutions to old problems.
During the last two months, this power of community has been on full display as our friends and neighbors respond to a new normal. Everyday we are witnessing our community pull together. From decorated windows, support for our local businesses, and making more of an effort to check in on isolated friends and family, we have seen how acts of kindness big and small create change.
But though there is much to celebrate, many more people still need help. So we are asking generous people in the community like you to do what you always do – come together and give.
A statewide week of Giving and Unity
To add power to this moment, we are asking you to give between May 1-8 during #GiveAtHomeMN, a special fundraising event in Minnesota. On this first week of May, thousands of people and organizations around the state will be coming together in acts of unity and giving that stretch far beyond COVID-19.
What You Can Do
If you are looking for a way to give back and safely connect to your community again, we ask you to donate during #GiveAtHomeMn.
When you give to United Way of Central Minnesota you'll help us qualify for the Golden Ticket grants that will be gifted to non-profit organizations. This means, your donation, if selected, could be stretched much further! These grants range from $250-$2,500 that our community needs!
Donate today and help show the power of community.
