United Way of Central Minnesota hosted its Annual Meeting: Wake Up With United Way on Thursday, September 13, 2012. The meeting took place from 7:45 – 9:15 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 37 Avenue & W Division Street, St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The event shared 2011/2012 accomplishments, recognized retiring/new board members, provided a financial picture of the organization, presented Live United awards, and announced the 2012 campaign goal of $4 million.

Two Live United awards were presented at the meeting.  This year’s recipients were St. Cloud Times and Xcel Energy Sherco Plant.  St. Cloud Times has published many articles about United Way and has volunteered at many events over the years, and Xcel Energy Sherco Plant organized a golf tournament that over the past five years has grown from raising $11,000 the first year to over $55,000 in 2012.  Both have demonstrated what it truly means to Live United.
